"Art Street 2019" was an art and music festival at KMITL, with the main theme of "Art Wong," inspired by the films of Hong Kong film director Wong Kar-Wai. The festival aimed to have a unique identity by presenting profound chapters with unique lighting and colours.
The Corridor Glance zone presented the movie "In the Mood for Love," the seventh film by Wong Kar-Wai, which told the story of love "in the wrong place at the wrong time" between Mrs. Chan and Mr. Chow, both of whom were already married but became neighbors. Together, they discovered that their spouses were adulterers, but in the meantime, they developed feelings for each other without much conversation. The presentation of this scene arranged a composition that allowed the audience to "peek" into their relationship.
Therefore, this installation art chose to present a "peek" at the characters through the form of window openings in the building. The location of this installation was similar to the one in the film, which featured a long staircase. The audience undoubtedly reminisced about the film in this location.
“ Corridor Glance ”
Presenting the audience with important and memorable scenes from the film 'In the Mood for Love' through the windows of the building, up to 5.4 meters high, and hiding objects or things significant to the characters' relationship with empty windows, invites the audience to reflect on those important elements and memorable scenes.
